Each village in Upper Tsum holds a horse festival where riders are decked out in silky shirts, thick fur-lined jackets, and large round red-tassled hats, carrying old rifles and fluttering banners.

The riders start drinking and singing the night before the festival, and it carries through to the next day, when they gather to sing and drink and ride out of town (video here) to make religious offerings up and down the valley. They return after dark for more singing and dancing, and of course, drinking.
